From the Artistic Director, Niel du Preez:
“It is a pleasure and an honour to welcome you to the 2024 season of exciting and inspirational music-making at the International ArtePiano Festival in Castelnuovo di Farfa, Italy!
We feel very privileged and lucky to have been invited back so warmly by mayor Luca Zonetti, and the people of Castelnuovo who form such an important and integral part of the festival. Their help, support and participation are growing each here and for that we are truly grateful.
We could not be more thrilled to offer you a festival program filled with piano master classes, student concerts, seminars and workshops, evening concerts, two competition final rounds, and more. During the upcoming week, our students will receive individual piano tuition from world class tutors who will guide them towards reaching their full technical and musical potential. Their pianistic skills will be showcased during the daily student concerts that will take place towards the end of each teaching day.
A stellar cast of performing artists will take the stage during our evening concert series. They include our international faculty of teachers and concert pianists, German violinist Alexander Knaak, Israeli pianist Renana Gutman, British jazz pianist Phil Merriman, Georgian sensation Irakli Gogiberidze, and the incredible South African soprano Erica Eloff who will be back again, and this time for our final night concert. Also on the menu is Castelnuovo’s local choir, Coro Castrum Novum in concert with theatre group Birignao, as well as a concert given by our young ArtePiano competition winners of 2023. And don’t miss out on the final rounds of the 4th International ArtePiano Competition where our finalists will display the highest level of artistry, virtuosity and musicianship.
We would like to thank our friends, family, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, and everyone who contribute towards making the festival such a wonderful experience each year. Our mission again is to create true human connections, getting out of our isolated bubbles and feeling the joy of sharing and making music together.
